3D Modeling Portfolio 2017

The way a 3d model is built is very dependent on it's final application. For example, if the model is used for interactive applications like a game or VR experience, it has to be lightweight. When using 3D for video, the model can contain more polygons (triangles), because we can press render and do something else in the meanwhile. I prefer modelling in low poly, because it feels more challenging.

Low-poly

These models have been optimized for a small amount of triangles. Along the way we use optimization like special textures for shadows and bumps. This series of chairs are used in various projects and are mainly a practice case for creating 3d models from picture reference.

Unreal engine

2016 was a year of VR. My company Pixelwater aims to make beautiful VR projects for companies. The beauty of these projects is that they are easily too large for 1 individual. The challenge to find VR projects and people to work on them was a fulfilling one. Within one year we have been fortunate to quickly work for a beautiful set of clients.
